This is a mouth-blown, antique, Baccarat Harcourt Versailles/1841 water goblet, produced since 1841 and still being sold and retailing for £210 per glass on the Baccarat site at time of posting. It does not carry the Baccarat maker’s mark which was introduced in 1936 so it predates then and would have had a paper label. It is mouth-blown and has a polished out pontil mark on the bottom of the foot. The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows some age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with age and use. The glass has an ovoid-shaped bowl measuring 9.3 cm (3.7 inches) in diameter at the rim. The glass has been blown in clear glass and then cut with petal flutes in the Harcourt-Versailles pattern. The bowl sits on a six sided vertically facet cut stem with a medial triple angular knop that leads to a hexagonal foot which measures 8.5 cm (3.4 inches) in diameter. The glass is 15.5 cm (6.2 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. It does NOT come in its original box. The last image shows the glass next door to a signed, modern equivalent, The newer glass does NOT form part of this item and is shown for referece purposes only. The glass weighs in at 480 g. ( ~ 1 lb. 1 oz.). Quote item: 9212 Please note: 1. All prices quoted are exclusive of postage.
