This is an Iittala of Finland vase, “Nardus”, designed by Timo Sarpaneva, the design dating from the late 1960s. The vase is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 50 years of use. The vase was created in a three-part mould in clear glass and is cylindrical in shape with a medial angular bulge, the diameter of the top cylinder being greater than that below the bulge. The external surface has a bark-like effect. It measures 13.2 cm (5.3 inches) in width at its everted top rim. It ends in a base on which are etched the letters “TS” for Timo Sarpaneva. The vase is 25 cm (10 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. It weighs in at 1,825 g. (~ 4 lb.). Quote item: 6680 Please note: 1.
