This is a clear glass Stella Polaris decanter designed by Nanny Still for Riihimaki in the late 1960s. The decanter is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows the age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some sixty years of use. The neck of the decanter is plain. The body of the decanter is octagonal with moulded olives of different sizes on its two flat sides and is plain on the narrow sides. It ends in a plain base. The decanter measures 12.5 cm (5 inches) in width by 5 cm (2 inches) in depth by 17.5 cm (7 inches) in height without the stopper; 21 cm (8.4 inches) in height with the stopper inserted. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. It weighs 610 g. (~ 1 lb 6 oz.) with the stopper insertted. The stopper. is decorated in the same manner as the decanter, is an excellent fit and is almost certainly the original. It has a white plastic peg. Quote item: 9314 Please note: 1.
