This is a glass bowl in the Ultima Thule series designed by Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985) for Iittala of Finland, still made today after decades of production. The bowl is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rims of the feet consistent with age and use. The bowl is round and measures 15 cm (6 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl was blown in clear glass, decorated with icicle-like decoration to the upper half and with what looks like melting ice to the lower half. The bowl sits on three small protruding feet so looks as if it is floating on air. The bowl is 9.5 cm (3.8 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious signs of restoration. Lead glass weighing in at 970 g. ( ~ 2 lb. 2 oz.). Quote item: 8263 Please note: 1.
